Biography

Vasilis Panayi was born in Kyrinia, Cyprus. He is known for Broken (2007), Papadopoulos & Sons (2012) and Ex (2015). Born in Sychari, a village in the state of Kyrinia, Cyprus has been involved in LGR since the very beginning. Having studied at the Stanislavski Drama School with the great teacher Vlademeros Kafkarides, he went on to take part in many performances and theatre productions. After the Turkish invasion in Cyprus, he came to London to study Theatre at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art. From here Vasilis went on to partake in many TV productions such as Vote for them, Soldier Soldier, Birds of the Feather, Boon, Sam’s Game, Plane Spotting and Bubbles. He also appeared in various films including Rifts and Sleeping with the Fishes which also featured Ewan McGregor. Over the years he has also done voice overs for many TV and Film productions. He has worked alongside George Evgeniou at Theatre Technis in various productions, including numerous children’s plays. Vasilis writes poetry, theatre plays and short stories. He has worked for London Greek Radio as a full time presenter and producer for the last twenty years. Playing a mix of older and newer generation music throughout various shows in the week!
