"Utsumi is an office worker who has no idea what fun is, leading a monotonous, uninspired life. On his day off, he goes to see the cherry blossoms. There he tries to focus, but does not know how to enjoy them like the other cherry blossom spectators. On his way home, he finds a women's discarded love doll who calls himself Nishi, who begs to return to his owner. The doll declares that since being separated that he has discovered a love for his owner he had not recognized before. The story of Nishi, made for the purpose of enjoyment, causes Utsumi to search his own feelings. Utsumi wonders if this might be the fun he is looking for and decides to return Nishi back to his owner."
A rampage at a university, the students Yuka and Mai are frozen with fear. At gunpoint, the two perpetrators try to force them to decide which of them must die next. In a moment of distraction, Mai tries to escape but is badly injured by a shot in the back. After the killers have moved on, a student, Hayashi Yuka, comes to the rescue. But the remaining Turks at Tehran Mehrabad Airport still need to be convinced that they won't be able to board their own country's rescue flight.
In the near future, the “ARK Project” has initiated a program to increase the quality of human life through the peaceful use of robots. Dr. Komyoji, the chief scientist on the project, has developed a process to create a robot with a figurative human “heart” through the installation of a “conscience circuit”, but his plans are violently opposed by researcher Gilbert Kanzaki. When Dr. Komyoji is killed in an apparent accident, his children Masaru and Mitsuko are targeted by mysterious forces within the ARK Project looking to gain control of the scientist’s research data. But the villains are opposed by Jiro, the android with a human conscience who fights for justice as the hero Kikaider.
