Biography

Gary Chason (September 23, 1942 - April 18, 2021) was a director, producer, actor and writer. He worked on big budget and independent films with passion. Born in Galveston, Texas, Gary had a distinguished career in motion pictures as a Casting Director and Dialog/Dialect Coach. His casting credits include: The Last Picture Show, Paper Moon, The Getaway, Pretty Baby, and Paris, Texas. He had the pleasure of working with many famous Directors, including: Robert Altman, Peter Bogdanovich, Sam Peckinpah, Michael Ritchie, Louis Malle, and Wim Wenders. As a Dialect Coach Gary tutored people like Jeff Bridges, Cybill Shepherd, Cloris Leachman, Brooke Shields, Tatum O'Neal, and Ann-Margret. The impact Gary had made during his life time within the theatre and arts community will never be forgotten.
