Emanuele Pirro, born on January 12, 1962, in Rome, Italy, is a highly accomplished racing driver known for his versatility and success in multiple racing disciplines, from Formula 1 to endurance racing. Pirro began his career in karting and progressed through the junior ranks, eventually reaching Formula 1 in 1989, where he raced with Benetton and Scuderia Italia. However, Pirro found his greatest success in sports car racing, particularly with Audi in endurance events. He became a five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving victories in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, and 2007. His partnership with Audi cemented his reputation as a top endurance driver, known for his skill, consistency, and professionalism. Beyond his racing achievements, Pirro has remained active in motorsport as a driver steward in Formula 1, as well as in ambassadorial roles.
