Not much has changed in the lives of the main characters of the first "Ring of Fortune" over the past 27 years. Moshu continues to write his poems, Seylu first does housework and then takes care of his children, especially Khoshu. Rasim remains a hard-working businessman. The situation changes unexpectedly. Rasim's daughter Deniz comes to visit her father with her newly-formed fiancé. At the same time, Seylu's younger brother Fedot also returns from Russia and tries to make his own plans around the beautiful Deniz.
The main characters – Mike Kovalski, a young American of Azerbaijani descent and a young business woman Aydan Bagirzade face a number of similar situations. They meet by accident and their meeting is full of surprises.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s the Armenian minority in Nagorono-Karabakh attempted to break away from Azerbaijan, one of the former Soviet republics. Overnight these former neighbors became enemies, and simple village folk were suddenly made hostages in a complex power game. One of the Azerbaijani villages right on the border is home to the family of the peasant farmer Kerim, who has just been captured by the Armenians. The village council decides to take an Armenian in order to arrange a hostage exchange. They imprison the wounded man in the barn next to Kerim's house, where his wife and three children desperately await the husband's return. The captive from the other side of the border finds himself in exactly the same situation - he, too, has three children, he finds it hard to scrape a living together, he has never done anything to harm anyone and, like Kerim, he just wants to go back home. Nepotistic Gafar again takes action and investigates and learns that another relative, a man named Feyzulla, lives in the United States. Feyzulla writes a reply letter to Gafar, informing him that he will soon come to Baku. Gafar again gathers his old relatives together and opens the matter. Moshu’s family and their neighbours go to a seaside motel to spend their summer vacation. Things get awkward after Sara loses her engagement ring.
The postman delivers a package with a dragon's head to Kazim who watches Alfred Hitchcock's films, to Zahra who reads fortunes with a computer, to Gariba who makes toys, to director Jahangir, to police chief Seifullah, and calls each of them to come to the address mentioned in the letter with the dragon's head. Those who arrive at the address called along with the dragon's head realize that the "postman", is actually their relative, who has gathered together guests who have not seen each other for a long time.
